• Want to improve your Hebrew-reading skills? Join the Rehovot Hebrew-readers as we begin to read a new book: עיר מקלט‎ by Liad Shaham. This is a murder-mystery novel by the "John Grisham" of Hebrew novelists. The Hebrew is easy, and the story is gripping. For information, call Rosalie Brosilow, 08 949 4851 or 052 736 7760.

• Berman members are cordially invited to participate in this year's Tu B'Shvat Family Celebration, planned for Friday, 7.2.20, between 13:00 and 15:00 at the Colb Family Farm, located opposite Kvutzat Shiller in Rehovot. The event is being organized by Psifas, Kvutzat Yachad, and Dror Yisrael. We'll pick oranges to be donated to the needy, have picnics (for families who bring their own food; bring ground covering), and engage in various activities (such as creative group games, art activities and preparing orange juice), all in the spirit of the holiday. Oranges can be eaten during the event, but not taken home. Since the event is outdoors, it's important to bring hats and water, and to wear appropriate clothes. • World Zionist Congress elections. Critical online voting for the World Zionist Congress (“parliament of the Jewish people”) began this week - see https://azm.org/elections. Millions of American Jews are eligible to vote, facilitated by the American Zionist Movement, every 5 years. Only 60,000 do so – a low 2% participation rate. Please consider informing friends/relatives in the US about this. Open to Jewish adults, permanent USA residents, for a $7.50 fee.
• Concert. Ladies, this is an event not to be missed! On February 4th, the Doron choir of Rehovot,  conducted by Ellen Macales, is presenting an uplifting choral concert in honor of  25 years since our founding! We are also hosting the Kolot Etzion choir of Gush Etzion, conducted by Gayle Berman. The 2 choirs will then join forces and sing together. Selections include popular Israeli, Chassidic, Eretz Yisrael songs, American songs and Ellen's original compositions. February 4th, 8:00 P.M., at the Matnas Mahut - Rehov Moshe Zacharia 6, Rehovot. Entrance: 10 ש"ח.

• תזכורת: למי שיש לו/לה תו חניה זהב, כדאי לחדש אותו בהקדם. לידיעתכם, גמלאים מעל גיל 70 חייבים להחליף את תווית החניה הישנה ברחובות לתווית חדשה לשנת 2020. המקום נמצא באגף התנועה בשעות הקבלה הרגילות בבניין רורברג בפארק המדע. שער בל קומה 1 רחובות. יש להביא רישיון רכב, רישיון נהיגה ותעודת זהות.
